The Sydney Saké Society was a proud sponsor of Giant Steps Australia's Chinese New Year Banquet at Marigold Restaurant on Saturday 2 March 2019.
We created a welcome drinks bar where we offered guests CHOYA umeshu & soda cocktails upon arrival and we donated two gifts: a limited-edition CHOYA Ume Liqueur vintage 2005 aged 10 years (only available at Haneda Airport in Tokyo with a duty-free price of 27,000 JPY) and a private saké masterclass.
We managed to raise 1,950 AUD for Giant Steps Australia through our two gifts, which were auctioned off that night by MC, Mr Stephen Choy. Guests really enjoyed our CHOYA umeshu cocktails, with many coming back for seconds!
Giant Steps is a registered charity that provides much needed support for children and their families with autism. They established their first school in Gladesville back in 1995 and a few years ago they also opened a school in Melbourne. As a testament to their ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care, they were awarded the Special Needs School of the Year at the 2018 Australian Education Awards.
